I seriously wish I was joking, but I'm not.

Anyway, Life Update for anyone who actually cares to know why I've been so flaky lately.

I just moved, from The Valley (San Fernando) of Los Angeles to Santa Monica. Still unpacking, though the worst is done with. Ikea furniture unpacked and assembled (as a challenge I actually managed to assemble my desk with one hand o.O), stuff still being rearranged, room already a mess. In the process of unpacking I found my old riding crop from when I once took horse riding lessons ten years ago (I hope one day to learn again), and a peacock feather I got from a local annual hippie concert (Topanga Days). However, while I know I have handcuffs, I have no idea where they are. Well, I have some idea, but that would involve more unpacking of things I can get away with just leaving packed, so I'll just count them as MIA for now.

I started college (community, though - Santa Monica College). Currently majoring in political science, may double-major with communications/media, and/or minor in economics. At the moment I have Chinese 1 and Elementary Statistics, and in October my Political Science class starts. (And I hope to snag a Macroeconomics class that starts at the end of September).

I've also joined a new fandom! BBC Sherlock. And here is my brain: in Merlin fandom, a show that is supposed to be a bit of a general action/myth type show and only grew dark by accident, I write almost all hurt/comfort angst and kinky smut. I get to the Sherlock fandom, with serial killers, sociopaths, psychopaths, PTSD, a kidnapping of John Watson in every episode, bombers, and criminal masterminds...and what does my brain want to write? Fluff. I wish I was kidding. It's all fluff. Wedding fic, kid fic, wing fic...my brain is all over these prompts. I've already written a fic, and ironically enough it's Sherlock/Lestrade despite the fact I'm actually a fairly ardent Sherlock/John (and often Mycroft/Lestrade) shipper. Go figure.

My classes only meet Mondays and Wednesdays at the moments, and until I get a job (which is hopefully soon) I'm pretty much free the rest of the week save for errands and schoolwork, so hopefully I'll be able to get some stuff done. :) Which is good because I'm a.) trying to write a novel, hopefully done by the end of NaNoWriMo, b.) finishing up my Journey Through a Broken Soul in the [livejournal.com profile] journeystory challenge, and c.) my old big bang from 2010 I abandoned (Lay Siege to the Eyes of Camelot) is being revived and renovated for the [livejournal.com profile] 100k_supernova challenge. Yeah you read that right, I'm writing 100,000 words (at not even 1/3 of the way through my plot outline it's already at 70k! \o/)

I'm also going to try and restart my comm, [livejournal.com profile] backtothebooks. The goal is that it's a research comm. If you're looking for resources on a topic you can post there for help (and if you're recently done a lot of research on a specific topic and have a lot of resources, post them up there as well). I'm going to focus on the LJ comm for now, but hopefully will also expand it to DW and create a Delicious account to connect the two. Also have some other vague comm ideas, i.e. I'm thinking of starting a new comm for the sole purpose of being able to bitch about writing. Multi fandom and for original writers, NaNo writers, challenge writers, or just people making themselves write for the hell of it, ect., everyone gets into a slump and wants to whine, so let's all whine together so we can whip each other back into shape.

For all my good intentions, though, I'm a little sick at the moment. Might have to do with some recently discovered fungus in my room, or it might have to do with the fact I just came off a heavy 23-day-long period that started 1 week after my last one ended. I really need to fill that birth control prescription...but anyway. Not in top shape. But I don't need to be anywhere until Wednesday so I'm good. ^_^

tl;dr - I'm moving/moved across Los Angeles, starting college (Santa Monica), job hunting (if anyone knows someone who's willing to pay for a writer of any kind for any thing, let me know!), I've dived into the Sherlock fandom gleefully, I'm swamped in writing and will need to write a minimum 160,000 words for writing challenges (100k for Supernova, 50k for NaNoWriMo, and 10k for Journey Story), I am restarting my old research comm, hoping to start a new comm solely for the purposes of complaining about writing, but through all this I'm rather sick at the moment either from fungus or a 23-day period. Yup, that's my life.

Oh! If anyone wants to co-mod that research comm, either on LJ or DW, and/or manage a Delicious account, please contact me. I've been having trouble getting this thing off the ground and would love some help. May also need some promo banners, if you're interested, for when we do get this baby going.

Wow, that is a hell of a lot you've piled on your plate! No wonder you're sick, it's probably stress overload...and fungus. May your body quickly heal and your life settle into something manageable!

And I can sooo apreciate the irony of your dark/fluffy fandoms. Think it's a matter of balance? Providing what the show itself does not? Filling in the gaps so to speak...

Only a few more hours till wednesday : p

Good luck. Pay attention to the chinese tones. Think of" De" as an expanded version of that word in spanish.also, pay attention to stroke order, will help with memorization in the long run.
