Anyael is a conlang (constructed language) I am developing. It started out as me developing it for the sake of the novels I'm writing, but it quickly grew out from there. At this point, it's about one third me doing it for writing purposes and two thirds me doing this just for fun. (What? It is!)
In the history of my scifi trilogy, it goes something like this:
Obviously, the chances of that happening are Barbie-slim to none, but it's a nice thought, innit?
Anyway, this post will serve as the master post for all things Anyael.

In the history of my scifi trilogy, it goes something like this:
It started out as a simple conlang in the late 21st century. After a skeletal system of grammar and syntax was created, it got its own forum and website and whatnot, and became an open-member collaborative effort. Because of the lack of formal derivation of random vocabulary, its popularity grew. There's a ridiculous history behind most words, and most of them have been forgotten. The language itself, however, remains.
Considered an open source language, by the 2030's, it started being used by many authors in a variety of forms, ranging from fantasy to scifi to many other genres, as a generic 'alt language', when needed, as an auxiliary language, a language of magic, or a variety of other reasons and purposes. From there, it grew. Within a few decades of that, it got official recognition as a living language, and there were already a handful of 'native' speakers, children raised by parents speaking only in Anyael, and as such having it as their native tongue, and it was even being taught in schools by late 2060.
After that, it kept growing, it's international popularity soon gaining it widespread attention as an international language. Finally, when given official international recognition as being as widespread as a small handful of other languages worldwide in 2085, it started becoming a mainstream language offered in almost all schools that offered a foreign language of any kind. Due to the lack of clear national roots, there was little nationalistic resentment towards it, and finally, by the 2200's, it was considered the universal second language of Earth.
Obviously, the chances of that happening are Barbie-slim to none, but it's a nice thought, innit?
