Heh, yeah, Uther's feeling guilty enough on his own about what he does, and yeah, he'll have a hella lotta explaining to do to Ygraine.
I actually spent a while wondering how healthy I should make the boys relationship, then figured in this situation it would be "not really", so I just dove right in. And yeah, I hated how Gaius made Merlin keep everyone so out of the loop, particularly Morgana, so I always try to fix that in my fics.
Madog is actually quite a fun character to write, though it's a challenge to really include him in the fic without making the fic partially about him.
And, I hope you'll enjoy the next chapter and be surprised. It has some similarities and some differences - but certainly Merlin ends it on a better note with Mordred than the show (though not by much).
