Heh, you don't really need to know X-Men - just know some people have powers, and are called mutants, and there's a lot of conflict surrounding them, so some young ones tend to run off to a special boarding school for mutants, as it's a safe place for them. :P Beyond that, this fic is all Merlin. :D
