I liked this - I can't say I enjoyed it, in the joyful, happy reading sense of the word, because it's not supposed to be like that, not with this subject. But it was a really good read, surprisingly in character for Arthur (whom everyone seems to have trouble writing) and so moving. As for the end, I don't think it was confusing and ambiguous because you made this quite realistic - had this been a piece of bad!fic they would have been shagging in the forest or something. This stirred up some things I've witnessed and felt, particularly the physical comfort bit: we always turn to our basic instincts when we find something our reason can't fully comprehend, touch being the first. I'll be reading the rest of your works, if you don't mind, you have a simple yet interesting style. Good luck with your exams :)
