Hm, I think Morgana was still strong enough to hear Uther talking to Gaius, but by the time Merlin got around to using magic to save her, Morgana was at death's door and perhaps wasn't strong enough to hear Merlin. Plus, Merlin's voice goes wonky whenever he uses Slash Dragon's magic, so even if she had heard a voice using magic, she might not necessarily have recognized it as Merlin's.
This revelation of Morgana's parentage is huge, definitely! I suppose that Morgause could be another of Vivian's children, and an older one as well, which would preserve the idea that she and Morgana are sisters. So if Morgause is also Gorlois' child, that would explain why she had the bracelet with his seal on it, the one she gave to Morgana to block her nightmares. I was half of the thought that Morgause might be Ygraine's child via Gorlois, which would have bound Morgana, Morgause, and Arthur together as siblings with Morgause as the bridge. Now this has Morgana as the bridge, provided Morgause is still her half-sister, that is.
Yeah, that vision of Morgana with a crown on her head as well as ancient!Merlin kind of got swept away in the wake of Merlin seeing Morgana trying to assassinate Uther. I wonder if he even remembers those two visions?
Also, I wonder who will break the news to Arthur that Uther cheated on his mother and Morgana was the result? ;)
