And oh God, I agree about the time period thing. The show doesn't exactly help with all the historical inaccuracies anyway, so that various hints at times don't match up and... Hmm, maybe I should read that rant of yours.

Not to mention a huge amount of torture ammo, since it's just so easy to say that they were in a concentration camp or a Victorian child chimney sweep. Almost too easy, in fact.
