The Morgana and Morgause issues are going to be sorted out later, and that's all I'm saying. :P
The elements will become important later, but also much later. And I intend to make the man watching a bit of a surprise. :D
And the childbirth scene was intended to creep out, mostly to go in tune with the new power. And in later chapters, please don't hate me when it comes to the twin thin! :( *wibble*
Merlin's reaction was meant to be sad. >:)
As for the sex scene: the top is the man who penetrates, the bottom is the man who's being penetrated. And, the dom is the one who is dominant in a relationship which has a power-dynamic, and the sub is the submissive one. Now, strictly speaking, the two are unrelated. Unfortunately, due to male/female dynamics, people often have difficult accepting that there's a different dynamic completely when it comes to two men or two women.
In a "traditional" relationship, the man, and the penetrator, is the dominant one, and the woman, the receiver, is the submissive one. (Obviously not true, but that's the common perception). This has often led to the idea that bottom!men are feminine, or top!women as masculine. This in turn has led to the idea that always, the dom is the penetrator, because that goes hand in hand with a common theme that women don't like much sex and only put up with it for their own purposes, which has extended that no one likes being penetrated, period, and only does it for their own purposes/love/ect. - but in all actually, it can be very enjoyable ;) and as such, top/bottom is really unrelated to dom/sub.
That being said - traditional gender dynamics. People have a hard time letting go of them (my own RL name is proof of that!), and as such, there are certain perceptions which carry over. Even for a random as full of progressive thinkers as the Merlin one, people don't let go of certain gender dynamics because of how deeply ingrained they are. The perpetual!bottom!Merlin, and the frequently over-feminized!Merlin, are two such results, and I've been getting sick of them, so along with me indulging in my sadistic side, this fic is intended to correct those common misconceptions.
/long-winded explanation
The releasing magic bit is also going to be tied in with the elemental magic and Merlin's new power and...well, let's just say the magic bits are going to get much more interesting later on. >:P
As for whether Merlin wanted the sex or whether it was just an uncontrollable response - why do you think Merlin was crying at the end? No one knows, hon, no one knows - yet, anyway. >:)
